 A task is the description of what should be done in order to achieve the expected result/aim. Tasks are displayed in the form of a tree where each task can have subtasks, thus hierarchy is built.
Task hierarchy is the possibility to divide a task into smaller subtasks (a set of steps to complete the task) Fig. Task list. Main task tree features: - Full visibility. Full control. The task tree displays exactly the information you need at the moment.
- Sorting. It is possible to sort tasks by any criterion: important/unimportant, urgent/not urgent, personal/business, home/in the field, today/tomorrow, etc.
- Grouping. It is possible to show the exact set of tasks by the specified criteria: by project, by time, by category, by contact. Moreover, you can specify several criteria simultaneously and in any combinations!
- Task periodicity. If you have a class of tasks that you need to perform periodically, you can easily solve this problem using periodic tasks.
- Customization. You can customize the way the tree looks like. You can use the Options dialog box to change the color/font of text, the color of background, the style of tasks. Also, you can highlight any task using common tools: bold font, italics, underlined text, color.
- Completed tasks. You can always show/hide completed tasks.
- Usability. The task tree supports all commonly used key combinations.
When you add a new task, the fields currently selected in the Navigator panel and in the Bookmarks panel are automatically specified by default. You can group all tasks by some criteria: by categories, by projects, by time, by contacts. Task properties. Name - the name of the task that will be displayed in the task tree. Project - this field is used to specify the project the task belongs to. Contact – this field defines what contact is assigned to this task. Category - this field defines the logical category of the task. It can be any context: place, circumstances, type of activity… Start Date - the scheduled start date of the task. Finish before - the scheduled end date of the task. There are three ways to add a new task: - Click the corresponding button on the toolbar (located at the top)
- Select the Add item from the context menu.
- Use the Quick task function.
